Qambani is a composition of a superb collection of detached thatched modern villas, on the tip of the eastern coast of Zanzibar, in Michamvi. On 3 ha of blooming paradise 7 bedroom villas, spacious living areas and 2 pools, all with a view to the turquoise Indian Ocean, are ready for pure enjoyment. The use of Qambani sport utilities like kayaks, windsurfing equipment or our gym is included in the fulfilment of joy, fun and pure relaxation.

The single greatest luxury in Qambani could be the vast amount of personal space, and how well it works. At the heart of the property is a ring of superb communal areas: generous, beautifully equipped and made for dream holidays. A huge living room extends along the garden’s ocean edge opening onto sun-drenched terraces. To one side stands a big, breezy, timber dining room and to the back, a kitchen, entertainment room, gym and hammam open onto a tropical courtyard.

It’s hard to say what’s the best thing about the grounds that surround Qambani: the splendid pools for endless afternoons in the water, the exotic gardens with palms and sunbirds – planted by one of East Africa’s best gardeners – or the Indian Oceans’ craggy coral edge with sea views splashed all the way along the front.

A little stroll down through the grounds takes you to five wooden steps and the shore. From June to November, a mile-long white sand beach curls around the headland. From December to May, a smaller beach is no more than ten minutes walk away on the coral at low tide.

Technologies really matter to the owners of this home. There is good internet, with wi-fi in every bedroom and living space. The lighting is superb, and every room is hooked up to a wireless Sonos sound system with the best speakers, to stream your music library, services or radio stations. The eco ethos is also sound, with top level solar power, rain-water collection, grey water filtration , herb and vegetable garden, and tropical fruit trees. Down the road, our managers have created a full organic farm. Water and power systems are double and triple backed up.

Qambani can be rented on a full board or self-catering basis.

Full Board
Included: All meals, on demand, with choices discussed daily with chef. Use of freshest local ingredients, including daily seafood. Various cuisines available from bistro European to African and Asian. Bottled water and hot drinks. Not included: Soft drinks, spirits, cocktails, vintage wines and champagnes. Fine cuban Cigars.

Self Catering
Arrangements can be made with management as required for provisioning of top quality fresh or dry produce, including local seafood, and wines and spirits.

Service
Qambani is fully staffed, including a manager, housekeepers, cook and driver. We like to arrange our schedules, menus and service totally around the guests’ wishes. Prior to their arrival, Qambani will discuss guests’ likely requirements – and respond accordingly.
